It gave me great pleasure on Wednesday to accept the keys to the new Hall on behalf of the Parish Council.
It has been almost ten years since we decided to try to replace the Pavilion with a new building that would be up to date and able to accommodate the increase in population due to the new houses being built.
With air source underfloor heating and solar panels, the building is as green as possible.
We were almost ready to start work before the pandemic which as we all know caused a delay to all projects and a vast increase in costs.
However, we continued to actively seek grants to cover the increases, and we have to thank South Norfolk Council for their support.
We are very pleased with the quality of the completed building and our thanks go to Draper & Nichols and their subcontractors for their workmanship.
Thanks must also go to the New Pavilion Working Group led by Glyn Davies as Chairman
The official opening is scheduled for January 2025 and the date will be confirmed later after which the Hall will be available for hire for various activities.
